ARREARS

As RE/MAX Town and Country is a registered Debt Collector, the following process will be followed

 

  • All tenants who haven't made a payment on 1st of the month, will receive a payment reminder letter on the 2nd of the month, at no charge.
  • Tenants who have short paid/no payment made, will receive a 2nd payment reminder, at cost as per the Council for Debt Collectors.
  • Tenants who have neglected to pay by the 7th of the month, will receive a letter of demand on the 8th of the month, at cost as per the Council for Debt Collectors.
  • Communication with a tenant in arrears, by means of telephonic calls, SMS messages and WhatsApp Messages will be charged to the tenant's account as per the Council of Debt Collectors.
  • All payment arrangements must be accompanied by a signed Acknowledgment of Debt, at cost as per the Council for Debt Collectors. This cost will reflect on the tenant’s account.
  • Final Eviction notice will be charged for as per the Council for Debt Collectors.
  • All tenants in arrears profiles are sent to and discussed by Management, to consider the next step (any legal costs relating to these steps will be for the account of the tenant)

Owner Benefits

 

  • A tenant is held accountable for non-payment.
  • The Debt Collection Department ensures that an tenant can pay his/her arrears before the litigation process occurs as set out in the Lease  Agreement

 

All Debt Collection Fees and services will be charged to tenant.
