Without finances the Owner/Landlord cannot adhere to his/her financial obligations and its provisions to ensure that maintenance is done and that the upkeep of the rental property is of a high standard.

 

Rental and Levy collection in South Africa now falls under the scope of the Debt Collection Act 114 of 1998 which ensures professional conduct throughout the collection process. The code of conduct applies to Landlords as well as any person serving to collect debt from a debtor.

 

RE/MAX Town and Country strives to ensure that each owner knows that their investment is secure, thus we opened our new Registered Debt Collection Department. The Debt Collection department tracks all arrears and sees to arrears payments being actioned accordingly. The tenants are held and remains responsible for rental paid and up to date.

 

The processes we follow is not just for the protection of the owners but as well for our tenants to not fall in financial strain, which could lead to blacklisting and unnecessary evictions.
